Hello! My name is Shu-Chun Chang Ball, but you can call me Chocy. I moved to Australia from Taiwan in 2013. It was in my first profession as a physio therapist in Taiwan that I came across Pilates as a form of rehabilitation, and I quickly realized how helpful Pilates is for the human body. This thought has stayed with me throughout my time since, and has now become very relevant to my current life position. Upon moving to Australia, I had a lot of learning to do, including learning English! I really wanted to continue to help people with their physical needs, so I completed a Diploma in Remedial Massage. It has been a rewarding journey as a remedial massage therapist, but I became aware that many of the injuries I am presented with could be prevented with Pilates. I realized that I could truly help people with Pilates by improving core strength and reconnecting the mind body pathways and improving overall quality of life. I myself suffer with an auto immune disease, which affects my spine and sleep patterns. I have been transformed by Pilates since taking it up in 2022, my increased core strength and deep connection with my body has greatly improved my quality of life. So it was an obvious next step in my career path to help people improve their life quality to complete an Integrated Diploma of Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology. This has combined perfectly with my previous physiotherapy studies in Taiwan and my Diploma of Massage to provide a holistic approach in guiding people to a healthy enriched life. I am excited for the future to be able to share my knowledge with you all and guide you to a new level of health and wellbeing through Enlighten Pilates.
